The One Where I’m in Quarantine

So, life is absolutely crazy right now.

In all of my life I did not think that anything like this would happen, especially not a national pandemic.

On March 9th I left to go on vacation to Delray Beach, Florida. The Covid-19 virus was going around but it wasn’t as severe as it has become.

My boyfriend and I brought many, many things of wipes, hand sanitizers, and gloves to wipe down our airplane seats, belongings, and basically everything we were touching and had touched.

Throughout our vacation we realized things were beginning to get worse and worse. Thankfully our returning flight home was on March 13th, the week before everything began to get very serious.

So since then, I have been home in Hopedale, Ma with my mom, dad, sister, grandmother, and dog. Everyone is doing good and staying healthy, but all very bored. We have been quarantining to the best of our ability, except for when I have to go pick up a prescription, or if my dad has to go food shopping.

Here in the tiny town of Hopedale there isn’t much to do usually, but its weird not being able to go get breakfast with friends, or even just go over to my friends house across the street.

Youtube has been consuming my life for the past week. Its basically a never ending hole of videos, I can watch them for hours.

I do honestly love being home and around my family, so I haven’t gone crazy yet, but I’m sure that will come soon.

It’s weird, whenever I am out just taking a walk, or driving around everything feels so normal, and it seems like everyone is just going along with their day regularly. When I get home and turn on my TV, its a whole different world.

Unfortunately, my 21st birthday is March 27th, this Friday. This whole pandemic has definitely ruined the vibe of that, but I am grateful to be able to be around my family for it. We did buy some Piña Colada mix so that should be fun.

Even though this isn’t the best situation to be in, try to make the most out of it, and view the positives. 🙂

    1. Thank you! I wasn’t expecting anything but my best friend lives across the street from me in our cul-de-sac. She set up a circle of chairs (all 6 feet apart) in the middle of our circle and some friends came to hangout and have some drinks. She got balloons and everything, that was awesome.

  2. My 22nd birthday was on March 22, so I feel you on not being able to go out and celebrate your birthday. Just try and make the most of it; I chatted with my friends and family (through social media and Face-Time) and went out in nature. At least you can have a Pina Colada!!

What do you like to watch on YouTube? I need to find new things to binge lol.

    1. I like to watch a lot of vloggers, like David Dobrik and Carly and Erin. I also like to watch a woman named Ellen Fisher. She is a vegan mom and lives in Hawaii and her life just seems so awesome, so she is one of my favorites too. If you’re into makeup and lifestyle I would recommend watching Desi Perkins, she’s cool too.

  3. Happy belated Birthday! I’m so sorry that quarantine ruined the vibe for your 21st, but I’ll take a shot in honor of you! I turned 21 in February, but that day was cold and rainy so I mostly spent it at home too if that makes you feel any better.

I have also been binge-watching YouTube videos during this all. What are your favorite to watch?

  4. You talk about Hopedale where and not having much to do. I can relate. I work at a small PEG Station in Granby, MA, which is also a Small town and the amount of events that got canceled is practically and easy 1/4 of all of the events we cover in town. Even where I live in Amherst, MA, it’s literally a ghost town (although the traffic is arguably better, but you get the point).

It’s really insane how one virus can change the shape of our hometowns.

  5. Your title is awesome, nice Friends reference. I’ve found myself down the Youtube rabbit hole as well. Do you have any favorite types of Youtube videos? Some of my personal favorites are video reactions by Youtubers like Cody Ko and Noel Miller.
