Got Magic?

Oh how I miss Walt Disney World. Being quarantined has reminded me of how much I miss going there and bringing out my inner child.

My family would go to Disney World every year up until I started college in the Fall of 2017. We are Disney Vacation club members, my mom is a Disney fanatic, lol, but we haven’t been able to go in a while.

So for this post, I want to give you guys my best tips for how to make the most out of your next Disney World vacation. I’m going to give you tips, specifically for the Magic Kingdom in this post.

My first tip would be to stay at a resort on-site. This will save you time and will be easier in many different ways. If staying on Disney property, when you land in Orlando, there will be a bus waiting to transport you to your hotel.

There is also transportation from park to park, and to and from your hotel.

Also, any purchase in any park can be shipped right to your hotel, so you don’t have to worry about carrying bags around all day.

As most people know, Disney World is always crowded.

One way to skip the long lines is to go to the popular rides when a parade or firework’s show is going on. If you’re willing to skip one of those, the lines to some rides at those times will be much shorter.

But, If you would like to stay to see the firework shows at Magic Kingdom, try to find a spot to sit or stand near the castle at least 45 minutes to an hour before the show starts. I know this sounds crazy, but it fills up quickly and finding a spot with a good view can be difficult.

Another trick is to get to the park bright and early.

Start your day at the back of the park (Frontier Land) and work your way to the front (Tomorrow Land and Adventure Land). When everyone enters the park at the beginning of the day they go to the first rides they see. If you start from the back the lines and crowds may be shorter.

Get FastPasses!!!! I cannot stress this enough. Ride lines at Disney World can have waits up to 70 minutes long. Getting a fast pass to the most popular or your favorite rides can save you so much time. For more information on FastPasses, go to this helpful site.

While you’re at the parks remember to take it slow. You won’t experience everything you want to in one trip.

Look at the details of everything, there is a lot of thought put into each park. For instance, glance up at the windows on Main Street and you will see multiple tributes to actual Disney Imagineers. Look for Roger Broggie, he was the first Disney Imagineer and was crowned a Disney legend in 1990.

Interact with cast members, they are so fun to talk to, and they’re all from different parts of the world. A fun way to do this is to trade pins. I have several lanyards with Disney pins from my childhood, I loved it. Look here for more information on how to do this

Lastly, don’t stress, don’t rush, just experience all the magic you can.
